Meet the team

Professor Andy Lane

Professor in Sport Psychology, Director of Research Excellence and Associate Dean in the Faculty of Education

Andy is a Chartered Sport and Exercise Psychologist with research interests in emotion, self-help interventions, mood, psychological skills, managing sensations of fatigue and emotion regulation.

Andy is responsible for developing and implementing a research strategy for 320 staff and 312 doctoral students, with 5 Units of Assessment being entered in the next Research Assessment Exercise. He is involved in a number of senior university roles such as the Research Assessment Exercise strategy group and professorial appointments.

Dr. Shaun Galloway

Course Leader for BSc(Hons) Sport Coaching Practice and Sport Coaching Practice (football)

Shaun has a PHD in Sport psychophysiology with 3 years of taught applied clinical psychology studies, from Semmelweis University, Budapest. His research interests are broad, covering Sport psychology practice, interventions Training theory, block periodisation Sport Coaching delivery and higher education, applied psychophysiological intervention for quinquagenarian and older and applied multidisciplinary examination into physical activity and dementia.

Originally from Western Canada, Shaun played Junior A (tier 1) ice hockey and was on the Canadian national team for kimute (60-65kg).

Shaun has lived, worked and studied in 6 different countries prior to coming to the UK (Japan, Australia, Greece, Hungary, Czech Rep, and Kuwait).

Scheduling Policies

Booking policies

To secure an appointment via our online scheduling system, you are required to pre-pay for the desired service.

Cancellation policies

If you have to cancel your appointment, you will receive a full refund if cancelled within 7 days of the appointment. Refunds are not available for cancellations made within 7 days of your appointment, but you will be able to reschedule.

If you need to rearrange your appointment, please refer to your booking confirmation email.

Pre-appointment policies

If you are booking a biomechanics test, you will be directed to complete and submit and Informed Consent Form and Pre-Test Questionnaire.

If you are booking a physiology test, you will be directed to complete and submit and Informed Consent Form, Pre-Test Questionnaire and Questionnaire for potential participants in projects involving blood analysis.

These forms will be accessible via your booking confirmation email should you need to update them.
